About Us
In 1986, Greg and Laurette Greenhalgh formed Protech Graphic Services to function as an independent service contractor for the printing and graphic arts industry. The company also imported and resold spare parts for Carnfeldt film processors that were being manufactured in Denmark. The name of the company was changed to CA Systems in 1990, due to the fact that the industry had now closely associated the company as the exclusive representative for the Carnfeldt processor in U.S. and Canada. In 1991, CA Systems also assumed the exclusive sales rights for the sale of new Carnfeldt processors in North America. Since then the company has grown rapidly by focusing on its primary market, which includes high production, wide format and on-line film processing. CA Systems has also expanded into the newspaper market with sales to such high profile accounts as the Wall Street Journal, The Asian Wall Street Journal, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinal and The New York Times. Also, CA Systems was an early entry in the polyester plate processor market, which has increased in popularity among printers, as an alternative to film, over the last five years. In 1998, a second line of film and polyester plate units was added, called ProStar processors. The ProStar units are manufactured and Norway and allowed CA Systems to expand in the off line and smaller print shop markets. Additionally, smaller newspapers in Janesville, Beloit, Whitewater, Fort Atkinson and elsewhere use ProStar products in their production plants. Also, Eastman Kodak became the exclusive distributor of special Carnfeldt models developed to print film used for the production of printed circuit boards. CA Systems is now fully involved in the plate processing market with an emphasis on CtP Plate processing. CA Systems brings it's superior technical background and knowledge of the marketplace to CtP processing and in now working with several leading manufacturers to bring the highest quality products and CA Systems unmatched service to the end customers. CA Systems will now focos on entering the photopolymer plate processing market while increasing market share within the thermal market. During Drupa 2004 CA Systems will be working with it's current partners to provide customers the best quality products on the market while at the same time seeking out new opportunities to bring products to the North American market. | ||
